Jointly developed with MTI Co., Ltd., MT-FAST is an energy-saving device that attaches multiple fins in front of the propeller to collect about 3% to 5% of the energy lost from rotational flow generated by the propeller rotations. This energy-saving device is not only popular for the new building ships, but also for the existing ships as well, because it is compact, versatile, and easy to retrofit. In recognition of its contributions for reducing the environmental burden, it has already been installed in over 500 ships and received the 2018 Minister of Environment Award in Japan.
