What is your job position in TTSP?
I am a Design Engineer 1 in CAD Engineering Services & Sub-contracting Department (CESSD). We cater to specialized engineering jobs which are outside the scope of our main products (ship designing) and assist in engineering works of other departments of TTSP.
What do you enjoy/like most in working in TTSP?
What I like most in working in TTSP is the experience of turning ideas into reality. It's good to see your drawing plans being realized physically. I am always challenged to apply engineering works that were taught in school and I gain new knowledge available in this industry I am working with.
My output gives me great amount of pride and joy that you cannot experience in other jobs. Moreover, we have a chance to travel outside the Philippines and explore the culture and work ethics of our colleagues abroad.
How do you describe the people you work with?
I have grown accustomed to the culture here at TTSP with the T-LIFE values which create a second home for me. I feel at ease in my work. My co-workers are easygoing and open. We can easily exchange ideas which make work a lot easier. Somehow, the bond I have with my colleagues extends even after work.
How did TTSP help you grow professionally?
TTSP has helped me become the professional I am now because of the amount of dedication, effort, time, and knowledge they have imparted to me. We are instilled to deliver only quality designs to satisfy our customers. I have attended trainings within and outside the company, locally and abroad to be more competent in my field.
The challenge for high-quality and on-time deliveries has taught me how to work under pressure, and how to handle challenges as a team member. Team efforts taught me that by working together and understanding how each process affect each other we are able to finish the projects on time. I have learned how important cross-functional relationships work.
Have TTSP helped you personally? How?
Aside from the financial freedom I have from having a job, TTSP helped me mature emotionally and intellectually. T-LIFE has given me a guideline on how to achieve excellence, not only in the workplace, but also with quality of life in general.
Thru our intra-company transfers and business trips I learned how to adjust to cultures of different nationalities. It opened my mind on how diverse the world and people can be.
What is your most memorable experience in TTSP?
One of my most memorable experiences was when we traveled with my colleagues and got lost on the way from Hiroshima to Nagoya. We had an adventure and saw a lot of beautiful places. We got to know a lot of people along the way and learned how their public transport system works. Their foods were exceptionally delicious and some flavors were new to me. I feel like I want experience it again in the near future.
What can you say about the facilities available in the company (office and/or dorm)?
I live within their provided dorm. I can say that my state of living is more than satisfactory. The amenities are quite good. We can have adequate exercises in the gym and in basketball courts. We also get entertainment from billiards, darts and other recreational activities.
The office facilities are satisfactory. I have everything I need to help me be able to finish my day to day workloads.
What do you enjoy most about your free time?
When I am not working, I usually stay at home and rest, play DOTA. Sometimes, I stroll around Cebu City. Some days, I preoccupy myself with my hobbies, that is, playing soccer/football and toy collecting.
What is your most favorite among the regular company activities conducted yearly?
I like the company activities held by the company every year, but the one I like most is the year end Christmas party. It is that time of the year that we get fancy, have fun, and indulge in tasty food and good company.
How do you see yourself in the future?
I would like to see myself as a stable professional, a good husband, and a loving father who is a responsible provider for my family.

I learn something every year which is very significant in my life as a young adult.
What is your most memorable experience in TTSP?
I have a lot of memories to share, but the most memorable one is my first sea trial on board a car carrier. I never thought Civil Engineering could bring me to the seas. Thus, my 1st 3-day sea trial will always be part of my work history.
What can you say about the facilities available in the company (office and/or dorm)?
In a Japanese company, everything you need is being provided. The facilities and work environment are conducive to our work. When the day ends, we consider the comfort of our well-furnished dorm to be our second home.

Basketball is a nightly ritual in our dorm facility since the two hoops were installed. I also enjoy watching TV shows, surfing net, drawing cars and reading car magazines. If my free days allow, I go home to our hometown at Leyte to relax, or probably travel to other places.

I love Family days and Christmas Parties because I get to bond with my family and friends on these occasions.

What is your job position in TTSP?
I work as a Design Specialist 1 in TTSP.
What do you enjoy/like most in working in TTSP?
What I like most working in TTSP is that the people I work with have a sense of ownership to their assigned job. They are mostly independent and work with minimal supervision, though, our outputs are interdependent from each other.
These same people I have worked with all these years are all very supportive, professional and very dynamic in carrying out the job expected of them. These characteristics contributed much to the company’s incomparable performance.
How did TTSP help you grow professionally?
TTSP has played a very crucial role in my professional growth because the company is committed in providing equal opportunities to all its employees to grow in every aspect through participation in seminars, meetings, international exposure and outings, to name a few. Aside from that, TTSP has helped me personally when they showed their confidence in me during my international exposure to Japan.
What is your most memorable experience in TTSP?
My work exposure to Japan was my most memorable experience so far. I got the chance to work in another environment, more so, of different culture, language, and practices. It was an enriching experience contributing to my capacity to adjust to cultural differences of workmates.
What can you say about the facilities available in the company (office and/or dorm)?
In its commitment to excellence, TTSP provided the best facilities an employee could ever ask, namely: fully air- conditioned workplace (and dormitories), up-to-date computerized workstations, highly equipped conference and audio-visual rooms, etc. With the use of the mentioned facilities we are never left behind in design technology.
What do you enjoy most about your free time?
To maximize working hours, I keep myself occupied even during breaks by doing some programming works. In some occasions, I engage in professional group chat with co-workers to make those tired nerves alive.
What is your most favorite among the regular company activities conducted yearly?
The annual family get together (Family Day) is my favorite company activity. It provides a much-needed opportunity not only for TTSP employees to bond together but also with their family members as well. It is strengthening the camaraderie among employees and their respective families.
How do you see yourself in the future?
I am a very optimistic individual. So, I can see myself still connected with TTSP in the future. I can still be considered an asset to the company because it is also where I can willfully share my knowledge to my co-workers.

Working in TTSP is an exciting experience. Having a position of Design Engineer 1 gives me a lot of challenges. As a team player I have developed the confidence, a sense of belongingness and evolved to be a person that cares for other team members.

Most employees in TTSP are nice, cheerful, kind-hearted, talented and charming. They are the perfect examples of individuals who anybody can get along with easily. That’s why, everyone here is helping each other to grow not just in career but also in some aspects of life.

I am very much thankful that I joined the Completion Team in ship designing because we are united in terms of work and in other activities that speak of our familial relationship. In entirety, TTSP employees are always supported by the company through different activities that promote camaraderie such as sports events, nomunication, Christmas party and Family day.

Aside from those mentioned I get to play basketball with colleagues at the dormitory basketball court during my free time and on weekends. Otherwise, I would just be leisurely lounging at the dorm with its other amenities provided for us while we are staying away from home.

Professionally, I expect to grow more mature and wiser in dealing with the challenges of my job. I hope to get more credits and achievements through the company’s comprehensive training sessions and mentoring as the years progress.

These trainings and seminars sharpen us to be more useful contributors of the company. By contributing our set of skills we may be able to help uplift its services and open a wide range of opportunities for ourselves. We are directly affected with every positive change.

I can only aspire to become a better person and professional as we continue to face the global challenges.
